Coastal Tour — Desolation Sound

Into Desolation Sound.

Rated the top yachting destination in the world — a full day among waterfalls, hidden swimming lakes and remote island villages.

01 The Trip

Desolation Sound Coastal Tour

Desolation Sound is a truly unique area and a must-do on your west coast adventures list. The trip takes you into waters protected by a group of remote and largely untouched islands, with a diverse array of experiences to customize your journey.

A few of our personal favourite stops: pull up right under the 30 m high Cassel Falls in Teakerne Arm Provincial Park, then take a short but steep hike to swim in Cassel Lake above the falls. Visit the secluded Roscoe Bay Provincial Park and hike to swim at the beautiful Black Lake. Stop at remote island villages such as Refuge Cove or Squirrel Cove to explore and grab a bite, and drop prawn traps on the way out to collect on the way home.

Along the way, photograph stunning coastal islands, snow-capped peaks and incredible wildlife — seals, sea lions, porpoises, dolphins, whales, orca, eagles and more. We offer full-day trips to Desolation Sound given how remote it is, and you'll plan the spots you most want to see with your own captain.
